MacKenzie Client Conference
On October 6, 2011, MacKenzie welcomed more than 175 of its clients to an economic outlook provided by Sage Policy Group's Anirban Basu. The invite-only event provided up-to-the minute statistics on the national and regional economy in addition to a rousing discussion of what the future holds for Maryland.
Held at the The Westin Baltimore Washington Airport in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, the conference provided attendees a unique perspective on the current labor and fiscal markets. MacKenzie's experts continued the lively discussion with an on-the-ground panel perspective on the state of the commercial real estate market. Highlights from the panel include a review of the Port of Baltimore's major advantages over its Eastern Seaboard neighbors, how the impending holiday season will impact both local and national retailers, and where to find money in the capital markets.
Though the overall outlook of our market appears to be contingent on the viability of the next three months, presenters all agree that Maryland has the capability and resources from which to rebound once the consumer and business community begin spending.
